Wanda PoppenhagerWanda Lee Poppenhager, 99, of Lewistown died at 1:44 a.m. April 2, 2012, at Renaissance Care Center in Canton.

She was born Nov. 20, 1912, in Astoria, a daughter of Don and Grace Waggoner Howard. She married Wayne H. Poppenhager. He preceded her in death in 1981.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Marshall "Pete" Howard and Kenneth Howard; and one sister, Pauline Howard.

Surviving are two sons, Jack (and Joan) Poppenhager of Canton and Roger Poppenhager of Browning; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and was one of the original employees at Bob's Dairy Dipper in Astoria.

She was a member of Summum Christian Church.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Randy Munson officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the memorial home. Burial will be in Summum Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Summum Cemetery or Renaissance Care Center Activity Fund.
