Pauline Howard

Pauline F. Howard, 97, of Canton died at 9:10 a.m. Feb. 22, 2009, at Renaissance Care Center in Canton.

She was born Dec. 14, 1911, in Summum, a daughter of Don and Grace Waggoner Howard.

Surviving are one sister, Wanda Poppenhager of Lewistown; four nephews, Jack (and Joan) Poppenhager of Canton, Roger Poppenhager of Browning, Kent Howard of Greenwood, Ind., and Randy Howard of Morton; and one niece, Cynthia (and Scott) Neeley of California.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Howard and Marshall “Pete” Howard; and one nephew, Peter Joseph Howard.

She worked in finance her entire life; first at Camp Ellis, Camp Grant and Farmers State Bank in Astoria and Mid America Bank in Canton.

She was a member of Summum Christian Church.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Ken Peterson officiating. Family visitation will be held one hour prior to the services Wednesday. Burial will be in Summum Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to her church or Summum Cemetery.
