He was born Aug. 11, 1928, in Wethersfield, a son of John and Louise McCombs.
Surviving are his wife, Agnes; two sons, Jason and Bryant; one daughter, Tracy; one stepson, Walter; several grandchildren; and two sisters, Rosa Lee Stambaugh of Browning and Doris Thomas of Astoria.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry, Robert, Stuart (his twin) and Charles.
He retired from Tampa State University.
He became a member of Bader Christian church in 1939.
Cremation rites were accorded. Burial will be in Seffner, Fla., at a later date.
