Harry D. McCombs, 74, of Denver, Colo., formerly of Astoria, died at 5:55 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 1997, at Red Rock Health Care Center in Denver.

He was born May 17, 1922, in Schuyler County, a son of John and Margaret Louise Douglas McCombs.

Surviving are four sons, John McCombs of Petersburg, and Christopher McCombs, Kerry McCombs and Craig McCombs, all of Australia; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Rosa Lee Smith of Browning and Doris Thomas of Astoria; and three brothers, Stuart McCombs of Peoria Heights, Jack McCombs of Seffner, Fla., and Charles McCombs of Petersburg.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

He was a farmer. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Cremation has been accorded, and graveside services with burial of ashes was held Saturday at Bader Cemetery with Rev. James Shirley officiating.

Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.

Word was received early Tuesday morning of the death of Harry D. McCombs of Denver, Colo.

Surviving from this area are two sisters, Doris Thomas of Summum and Rosa Lee Smith of Browning.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
