Adah McCormick Dies At Age 67

Mrs. Adah Fern McCormick, 67, a lifetime Astoria resident, died at 4:05 a.m. Thursday in the Culbertson Memorial Hospital, Rushville.

She was born March 15, 1904, in Astoria Township to Charles and Mae (McKinnley) Bankes. She was married March 16, 1920, in Astoria Township to Vern R. McCormick. He died Dec. 29, 1968.

Survivors include four sons, Melvin McCormick of Camden, Tenn., Marvin McCormick of Ipava, Norman McCormick of Canton, and Merlin McCormick of Prairie City; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Arnette of Table Grove; 11 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; two sisters, Pansy Guilliams of Rushville, and Mrs. Beulah Anderson of Canton.

Two infant daughters and two brothers died earlier.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Robert Winkler officiating. Burial was in the Salem Cemetery.
