Merlin R. McCormick, 60, of Bushnell, died at 8:50 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 1993, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born Sept. 17, 1932, in rural Astoria, a son of Vern R. and Ada Bankes McCormick. He married Rosa Lee Woolam on Aug. 25, 1951 in Macomb. She survives.
Also surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Debbie) Pestle, Mrs. Michael (Kathie) McCleery, Mrs. Timothy (Tammie) Speer and Mrs. Brad (Tina) Clark, all of Bushnell, and Mrs. Dan (Sharon) Hundley of Macomb; two brothers, Melvin of Huntingdon, Tenn., and Marvin of Ipava; one sister, Dorothy Arnett of Lewistown; and 11 grandchildren.
One brother and two infant sisters preceded him in death.
He worked at the Bushnell-Prairie City Fire Protection District for 25 years before retiring. He worked at C.S. Norcross, more recently known as Nor Forge and Machining, Inc. for 28 years. He was a member of Bushnell Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services were to be held today at his church with Rev. Stan Coller officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb.
Memorials may be made to the McDonough District Hospital Hospice or to the Bushnell Rescue Squad.
