Don Jones Of Astoria Dies

Don Jones, 74, of Astoria died at 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 1974, at the Astoria Care Center.

Mr. Jones was born on Jan. 3, 1900 in Ipava, the son of W. F. and Hattie Weese Jones. He married Eva Etter on March 27, 1920, in Lewistown. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Betty Brubeck of Astoria and Mrs. Margaret Blazevich of Phoenix, Ariz.; one son, Robert E. of Astoria; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Russell of Lewistown; and three sisters, Mrs. Cora Morse of Ipava, Mrs. Lula Parr of Vermont, and Mrs. Ila Walraven of Canton. His parents, one grandchild, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

He had been employed in the auto industry for 35 years and for 25 years he had owned and operated Jones Construction Co., in Astoria. He retired five years ago. He was a member of the Astoria Christian Church.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Mike Hargrave officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
