George W. Hulvey Dies On Sunday

George W. Hulvey, 93, Astoria, died at 2:15 p.m. Sunday at the Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was the son of James and Margarete (Hale) Hulvey, born Oct. 17, 1878, in New Philadelphia, Ill. He married Sarah A. Strode Feb. 26, 1902, in Cuba. She died July 16, 1952. He then married Edith Fawcett Nov. 16, 1955. She died May 19, 1967.

Surviving are three sons, Guy and Glen Hulvey of Rushville, and Maurice Hulvey of Ipava; three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Workman of Astoria, Mrs. Frances Howser of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Freida Day of Los Angeles, Calif.; 26 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Two daughters, one son, two brothers, and one sister died earlier.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Astoria Church of the Nazarene.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
