SARAH ANN (STRODE) HULVEY

Mrs. Sarah Hulvey Dies Last Wednesday Morning

Mrs. Sarah Hulvey, 68, died early last Wednesday morning in her home here. She had been in failing health for several years.

Born Oct. 8, 1885, in Cuba, a daughter of James and Mariam (Pettet) Strode, she married George W. Hulvey on Feb. 26, 1902. He survives.

Also surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Berneice Wherley, Canton, Mrs. Marilyn Shaw, Mrs. Ruby Workman, both of Astoria, Mrs. Frances Alther, Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Freda Day, Los Angeles, Calif., three sons, Guy Hulvey, Camden, Maurice Hulvey, Rushville and Glenn Hulvey, Macomb; 22 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Cameron, Kremlin, Mont., and Mrs. Frances Haffey, Bushnell, and four brothers, William L., Cuba, Harrison, Table Grove, J. Ray, Lewistown and Oral G., Canton.

She was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church of Cuba.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the E. U. B. church, conducted by Rev. Leslie T. Barr. Burial in Astoria cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Hulvey celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on February 26, 1952.
