Mrs. Dorothy Farwell Dies Suddenly

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Farwell, 67, of Summum, a lifetime resident of the Astoria area, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Summum Christian Church where she was a member. The Rev. Danny Phillips officiated and burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Astoria. Mrs. Farwell died suddenly about 8:30 Thursday at her home.

She was born Jan. 8, 1901 in Schuyler County, a daughter of Adrian and Emma Brehm Lane. She married John H. Farwell Jan. 3, 1920. He survives. Also surviving are a son, Clinton E. Farwell of Bushnell; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Jane Mathews of Pekin; six grandchildren; a brother, Paul Lane of Browning; a sister, Mrs. Faye McDermott of Concord; a half-brother, Russell Painter of Beardstown and four half-sisters, Mrs. Ethel Etter of Versailles, Mrs. Emma Wherley and Mrs. Pauline Cassel, both of Astoria, and Mrs. Flossie Reed of Chapin.
