Paul Lane, 77, Of Browning Dies

Paul Lane, 77, of Browning died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 1974, at Schmitt Memorial Hospital in Beardstown.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in the Browning Cemetery.

Mr. Lane was born on Feb. 4, 1897, in Browning Township, a son of Adrian and Emma Brehm Lane. He was married on Feb. 14, 1917, to Eva Hamilton. She died on Feb. 22, 1968. He then married Catherine France on Jan. 4, 1970. She survives.

He was a member of the Browning Christian Church.

Besides his widow, Mr. Lane is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Faye McDermott of Concord, Mrs. Flossie Angelo of Chapin, Mrs. Emma Wherley and Mrs. Pauline Cassel, both of Astoria; six stepdaughters; 17 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
