Mrs. Twila Cox Of Vermont Dies

Mrs. Twila F. Cox, 79, of Vermont, died at 11:04 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 1988, at Graham Hospital in Canton following a lengthy illness.

She was born on June 11, 1908, at Astoria, a daughter of George and Cora (Miller) Ruth. On Dec. 1, 1928, she was married to Arthur Cox in Vermont. He preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1967.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Leezer of Lewistown and Mrs. Cheryl Matteson of Vermont; three sons, Marcus Cox of Cuba, Maurice Cox of Vermont and George Cox of Lewistown; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Johnston of Rushville and Mrs. Bonnie Fleming of Kenosha, Wis.; one brother, Charles Ruth of Rushville; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were two sons, one grandson and three sisters.

She was a member of the Vermont United Methodist Church, having transferred her membership from the Church of the Brethren in Astoria.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the Vermont United Methodist Church with Rev. Donald Pratt officiating. Burial will be in the Vermont Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont.

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Vermont.
