George Ruth Passes Away

George Ruth, well known Astoria resident, died Monday at the St. Francis hospital in Macomb, following an illness of long duration. He was aged 67 years, 11 months and 16 days. He was the fourth child of a family of 12 children, four of whom survive.

Mr. Ruth was born near Table Grove, Oct. 8, 1882, a son of John and Sarah King Ruth. On Oct. 8, 1905, he was united in marriage to Cora Miller. Seven children were born to them. Besides the widow, four children survive, namely: Mrs. Irene Turner, Mrs. Twila Cox, Mrs. Bonnie Fleming, and a son Charles, all of Astoria; also seventeen grandchildren.

Mr. Ruth was a member of the Church of the Brethren.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Astoria Church of the Brethren, conducted by Rev. Homer Kiracofe. Burial in Woodland cemetery.
