Cord V. Curless Dies At Age 75

Cord V. Curless, 75, of Route 2, Havana, died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Mar. 18, 1979, in Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Mar. 16, 1904, in Bluff City, a son of Charles and Cora Fisher Curless and married Leona Belle Smith, Mar. 18, 1925. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, George of Minneapolis, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Wanita) Fredrick of Springfield, Mrs. William (Mary) Fletcher of Moline and Mrs. Scott (Ella Mae) Blakeley of Oakford; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Lau of Canton and Mrs. Stella Thompson of Havana; three brothers, Harley of Astoria and Donald and Leo, both of Bluff City; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter and three brothers.

He was a retired farmer from the Havana-Astoria area.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Ray J. Beard officiating. Burial was in Bluff City Cemetery.
