Donald Curless, 82, of Bluff City, died at 1:56 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 1996, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 10, 1913, in Schuyler County, a son of Charles and Cora May Fisher Curless. He married Beatrice R. Ethridge on Oct. 16, 1943, in Macon, Ga. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Janet Poppenhager of Browning and Carol Hinesley of Sanford, N.C.; two sons, Theodore E. of Cleveland and Donald Keith of Brooklyn; one brother, Leo of Browning; one sister, Helen Lau of Canton; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

One granddaughter, one sister and five brothers preceded him in death.

A member of AFL-CIO, he was a laborer and a farmhand. He was a World War II Air Force veteran.

Funeral services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Lyle Dean Bullard officiating. Burial was in Bluff City Cemetery.
