She was born Jan. 22, 1925, in Georgia, a daughter of Ernest and Bert Ethridge. She married Donald Curless on Oct. 16, 1943, in Macon, Ga. He preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 1996.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Hinesly; nine brothers and sisters; and three grandchildren.
Surviving are one daughter, Janet Summers of Astoria; two sons, Theodore (and Jane Ann) Curless of Homestead, Ohio, and Donald Keith (and Denise) Curless of Brooklyn; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was a secretary at Robins Air Base, Warner Robins, Ga. She later was a homemaker and did some wallpapering for area families.
She was a member of Bluff City Community Church.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, at Bluff City Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Sawyer officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home.
