Services Saturday For Charles Curless, 91

Funeral services for Charles Curless, 91, of Bluff City, near Astoria, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. The Rev. Loren Holt officiated and burial was in Bluff City cemetery.

Mr. Curless died Wednesday at Mason District Hospital, in Havana, after a lengthy illness.

He was born Feb. 23, 1868 in Fulton county and was a lifelong resident of Bluff City. His parents were L. D. and Hester O'Donnel Curless. He married Cora Fisher at Havana Aug. 21, 1894. Mr. Curless was a retired farmer.

Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Russell Thompson of Havana and Mrs. Frank Lau of Canton; six sons, Harley, Donald and Leo of Bluff City, William Sr. and Cord of Havana and Dewey of Peoria; two brothers, Clyde of Vermont and Claude of Spring Bay; one sister Mrs. Nellie Mason of Monmouth; 28 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Four children are deceased.
