Leona Bollinger Dies In Hospital

Mrs. Leona V. Bollinger, 68, of Astoria, died at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, Mar. 11, 1980, in the Culbertson Memorial Hospital at Rushville.

She was born Aug. 24, 1911 in Vermont, a daughter of John Henry and Clara Leona (Welch) Vaughn. She married Luther Bollinger Aug. 28, 1928, in Vermont. He preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 1956.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Mary Lou Bird of Astoria, Mrs. Charlotte Norton and Mrs. Freida Stambaugh, both of Browning, and Mrs. Betty Norton of Beardstown; three sons, Eugene Bollinger of Canton, Robert Bollinger of Browning and Richard Bollinger of Rushville; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Helen Smith of Browning.

One daughter and one brother preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bollinger was a member of the Astoria Church of the Nazarene.

She had been employed in Ottawa as a licensed practical nurse for 15 years before retiring in 1974.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Astoria Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Lester Burgard officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.
