MAX J. WORKMAN

Max J. Workman, 71, of Princeville, formerly of Bath, died at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Feb. 16, 1933, in Sheldons Grove, a son of Dewey and Eva Stambaugh Workman. He married Debbie Davis in 1987. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Milton Froman of Springfield, David Froman of Havana and Darrin Workman of Bath; two stepdaughters, Stacey Davis of Dunlap and Maxette Ratliff of Bluffs; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren; one brother, Lyle of Canton; and four sisters, Betty Scego of Whitehall, Audrey Rining of Frederick, Linda Eddington of Summum and Bonnie of Quincy.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Beulah and Martha; and four brothers, Frank, Richard, Herschel and Robert.

He served in the Army during the Korean and Vietnam wars.

He was a machine repairman at Alcoa in Princeville and for Dana Corp.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Graveside services were held Monday at Sheldons Grove Cemetery with Rev. Vince French officiating. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana was in charge of arrangements.
