Robert Jay Workman Sr., 68, of Pekin, died at 5:27 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 15, 1992, at Pekin Hospital emergency room.

He was born Jan. 1, 1924, in Sheldons Grove, a son of Dewey and Eva Mae Stambaugh Workman. He married Patricia R. Lynn on Dec. 4, 1948, in Sheldons Grove.

She survives along with one son, Robert Jay Jr., and three daughters, Mrs. David (Marsha) Wagner, Mrs. Christopher (Tammie) Fouts and Mrs. Donald (Jeanna) Snedden, all of Pekin; three brothers, Frank of Frederick, Lyle of Cuba and Max of Princeville; five sisters, Mrs. Donald (Audrey) Rining of Browning, Mrs. Dwight (Linda) Eddington of Ipava, Mrs. Andy (Martha) Burnett of Princeville, Bonnie Trone of Quincy and Betty Scego of White Hall; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

One daughter, one sister and three brothers preceded him in death.

He was a lathe operator for Caterpillar Inc. at the Mossville Tech Center for 28 years, retiring in 1986. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, with Rev. David Clark officiating. Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery.
