Samuel Wickert, 77, died Sunday, Aug. 8, at his home in Dixon.
Mr. Wickert was born at Ipava on Oct. 29, 1893, a son of Martin and Mary Bucher Wickert. He was married to Alma Schisler on Dec. 20, 1916 who preceded him in death.
He was a faithful member of the Church of the Brethren.
Survivors include two sons, Merlin and Dale, one grandson and one great-grandson, all of Dixon; two brothers, Wilbur Wickert of Pekin and Reuben Wickert of Astoria; five sisters, Elizabeth, Ruth and Perlena Wickert, Mrs. Ida Chockley and Mrs. Florine Sanders, all of Astoria.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Dixon with burial in the Dixon Cemetery.
