Maxine "Dutch" StambaughMaxine “Dutch” Stambaugh, 78, of Ray died at 11:35 a.m. Jan. 29, 2019, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

She was born March 14, 1940, in Ray, a daughter of Dale Wilson Smith and Eleanor Maxine Smith. She married Albert “Gene” Stambaugh on Jan. 10, 1966, in Macomb. He preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 1979.

She also was preceded in death by one infant son, Vaughn; two sisters, Sally Asa and Patty Smith; and two brothers, Jackson Smith and Keith Smith Sr.

Surviving are one daughter, Marsha (and Danny) Bolton of Ray; one granddaughter, Jessica (and Josh) Sargent of Rushville; one sister, Shirley Price; one brother, Bill Smith; one grandson, Dalton Allsup; and three great-grandchildren.

She graduated from Rushville High School with the class of 1958. She worked at Surber and Genseal Meat Processing, Houser Meats and several restaurants. She retired in 1999 from Schuyler School District where she worked in the cafeteria for over 19 years.

Funeral services were held Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Fred Fritz officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
