Jackson SmithJackson E. “Jack” Smith, 73, of Macomb, formerly of Rushville, died at 8:03 p.m. Feb. 8, 2011, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mount Sterling.

He was born March 15, 1937, in Macomb, a son of Dale Wilson Smith and Maxine Smith.

Surviving are one brother, Billy G. Smith of Beardstown; and four sisters; Shirley May (and Gene) Price of Rushville, Maxine Stambaugh and Sally Jo Asa, both of Ray, and Patty Smith of Chickasha, Okla.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Keith Smith.

He worked at Vermont Foundry, construction out of the Jacksonville Union Local, at Bridgeway, Macomb Dining Company and Macomb Radio Station.

He helped at Schuyler County Fair and Illinois State Fair for several years.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church of Macomb and attended other churches.

Services were held Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Father Richard Pricco officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
