John W. Schisler, 80, Dies Monday

John W. Schisler, 80, died Monday morning about 10 a.m. in the Blessing Hospital in Quincy following an illness of about three months.

He was born in Astoria on Sept. 7, 1886, a son of Samuel and Lydia Ebbert Schisler. On Oct. 17, 1915 he was married to Ella Walters in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Willis Schisler of Astoria; three sisters, Mrs. Alma Wickert of Dixon, Mrs. Bessie Long of Astoria and Miss Orpha Schisler of Lincoln; two brothers, Ray Schisler and Jake Schisler, both of Astoria. Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Schisler was a member of the Astoria Church of the Brethren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Fines Main officiating. Burial will be in the Astoria Cemetery.

Friends may call at Shawgo's Wednesday afternoon and evening.
