Bessie V. Long, 86, of Astoria, died at 10:25 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 1991, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
She was born June 16, 1905, in Astoria, a daughter of Samuel and Lydia Ebbert Schisler. She married Keith Long on Dec. 10, 1924. He died in 1946.
Four sons, five brothers and five sisters also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Lois Wherley of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Mary Lou Hayes of Springfield; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Astoria Church of the Brethren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at her church, with Rev. Wayne Rouse officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to her church.
Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
