He was born March 22, 1929, in Vermont, a son of Walter and Marie Teel Richey.
Surviving are four daughters, Marilyn (and Mike) Krominga of Pontiac, Kathy Henry of Astoria, Rita (and Keith) Treadwell of Dayton, Ohio, and Willa Campbell of Ipava; two brothers, James and Ted of Vermont; one sister, Maryann of Adair; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Richey of Rushville; nine grandchildren, Mandy Jo, Staci, Kari Jo (and Dave), Keli, Heather (and John), Jessica, Robert, Alex (and Lacey), Taylor (and Chris); six great-grandchildren, Elijah, Kyrie, Richard, Brookelynn, Harper and Hudson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; two sons, Randy and Danny and an infant son; four brothers, Charles, Bud, Lyle and Keith; and three sisters, Rose, Nelda and Linda.
He worked several jobs and retired as park maintenance at Anderson Lake after 18 years in 1990. He loved playing cards especially rummy and cribbage.
He was the best husband, dad and grandpa and was loved by all that knew him.
Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton.
There will be no services but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
