He was born May 7, 1950, in Macomb, a son of Walter and Marie Teel Richey. He married Vicki Allen on Sept. 22, 1980, in Jacksonville. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Chad (and Bambi) Richey of Vermont and Darin (and Kylie) Richey of Ipava; his siblings, Willard Richey, James Richey, Theodore Richey and Mary Ann Plate; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Charles, Walter “Bud” and Lyle Richey; and three sisters, Nelda Reid, Linda Short and Rose Marie “Sis” Osborne.
He worked as a carpenter for Hollenback Construction from where he retired.
Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Vermont Rescue Squad.
