VeteranCharles Richey Of Vermont Dies

Charles Albert Richey, 60, of Vermont, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 1990, at his home.

He was born March 30, 1930, in Industry, a son of Walter S. and Twila M. Teel Richey. He married Phyllis Cook. He later married Rosalie Baker.

Surviving are his parents of Vermont; two daughters, Mrs. Pamela Dunn of Portsmouth, Va., and Mrs. Christine Hughes of Glasford; three sons, Charles A. Jr., Michael K. and James E., all of Portsmouth; seven grandchildren; six brothers, Willard, James, Keith and Theodore, all of Vermont, Walter of Marietta and Lyle of Macomb; and three sisters, Mrs. Nelda Reid of Canton, Mrs. Mary Ann Plate of Adair and Mrs. Linda Short of Clarendon, Texas.

He was a self-employed painter and a Korean War Army veteran. He was a member of Astoria American Legion Post 25 and a life member of Lewistown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5001.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Collis Trone officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the memorial home.

Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery with graveside military services by Astoria American Legion Post 25.

Memorials may be made to the hospice program at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
