BEULAH B. (ALLEN) RUSSELL

Beulah Russell

Beulah B. Russell, 96, a resident of Bickford Cottage in Macomb since December 2004, formerly of Industry, died at 7:15 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2005, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born Nov. 21, 1908, in McDonough County, a daughter of Roy and Cora Grim Allen. She married Clifford "Vern" Russell on Oct. 4, 1930, in Eureka. He died Dec. 17, 1987.

She also was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Surviving are one daughter, Dorothy Caldwell of Macomb; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Burley Allen and Bernard Allen, both of Adair, and Bill Allen of Macomb; and two sisters, Bernice (and Mac) McCormick of Lewistown and Beatrice (and Ralph) Farr of Table Grove.

A graduate of Western Illinois Teachers College, she taught school for several years and later taught piano in her home.

She served as the organist at Industry United Methodist Church for more than 40 years and at Clugston Funeral Home in Macomb for several years. She was a former member of the Home Extension in Industry.

She was a member of Industry United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Rev. Cindy Rettig officiating. Burial will be in Industry Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Industry Rescue Squad or her church.
