R. Bayne Allen, 83, formerly of Macomb, died at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg.
He was born May 13, 1915, in McDonough County, a son of Roy and Cora Grimm Allen. He married Frieda Irene Thompson on Aug. 11, 1937, in Keokuk, Iowa. She died March 19, 1994. One sister also preceded him in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. John (Beverly) Defranco of Green Valley, Ariz.; one son, Robert of Aurelia, Iowa; three brothers, Burley and Bernard, both of Adair, and Bill of Macomb; three sisters, Mrs. Vern (Beulah) Russell of Industry, Mrs. Gerald (Bernice) McCormick of Lewistown and Mrs. Ralph (Beatrice) Farr of Table Grove; and four grandchildren.
He was a farmer.
Services were held Saturday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Rev. Robert Friese officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb.
