Ralph D. Farr, 88, of Table Grove died at 9:40 a.m. Feb. 10, 2014, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born Nov. 23, 1925, in Table Grove, a son of Hugh Melvin and Anna Elizabeth Schuman Farr. He married Beatrice Allen on Dec. 1, 1946, in Adair. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Katherine (and Randy) Stenerson of Hardin, Mont.; one son, Dan Farr of Table Grove; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ida Lou Wherley; and three brothers, Hugh, Donald and Jack Farr.
He farmed in the Table Grove area his entire life where he worked to improve and expand the family farm. He and his family were awarded the Conservation Farm Family of the Year in 1998.
He was a member of Fulton County Farm Bureau, Fulton County Soil and Water Board and Table Grove Community Improvement Board.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Table Grove Community Church with Pastor Rob Harrison officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Harris Cemetery in Table Grove. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
