Philip E. Robertson, 74, of Ipava, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 1998, at his home.

He was born Feb. 27, 1924, in Ipava, a son of Jasper and Hila Mae Vaughn Robertson. He married Doris Curless on April 27, 1947, in Havana. She survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Dennis, Steve and Allen, all of Ipava, and Chris of Avon; one daughter, Hila Rora of Marquette Heights; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Iris Lamm of Ipava, Barbara Wickert of Glasford and Mary Hummel of Bushnell.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

A brick mason, he worked for Hummel Construction in Bushnell and Chadco in Macomb. A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of Ipava American Legion Post 17. He also was a member of Ipava Masonic Lodge 213, AF&AM.

He was a member of Ipava Christian Church, where services were held Friday with Rev. Kevin Kessler and Rev. Stacey Nicholas officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery, where military rites were accorded by his American Legion Post. Masonic services have also been conducted. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Ipava American Legion Post 17 or the Ipava Fire Department.
