Funeral Held At The U. B. Church This Afternoon Burial Astoria Cemetery

Mrs. U. G. Prather died at her home on East Broadway Monday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock following an illness of a long duration. Aged sixty years, seven months and ten days.

Mahalia McKinley was born December 25, 1871 in Mason county, the daughter of Calvin and Mahalia McKinley. She was united in marriage to Upton G. Prather, March 2nd, 1892. To this union one child was born, Orville of Woodland township. Besides her grief stricken husband and son, she is survived by a grandson, Kenneth Fred, also by five brothers and one sister, namely: John McKinley of Easton, Henry C. and Joe McKinley of Woodland township, Charles McKinley of Philadelphia, Pa., W. F. McKinley of Galesburg and Mrs. Sylvester Markley of Kerton township.

Mrs. Prather was highly respected by all who knew her. She was kind and patient and although her sufferings were intense at times, she bore them bravely. During the many months of her illness she had the tender ministrations of those whom she loved best and were bound to her by strong ties of kinship. Her family life was most congenial and affectionate. She will be greatly missed by loved ones. Only a short time ago, she professed religion and was baptized.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the U. B. church, conducted by Rev. E. P. Davis. Burial was made in the Astoria cemetery.
