Orville R. Prather, 93, of Astoria, died at 1:12 a.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 10, 1992, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
He was born Jan. 19, 1899 in Woodland Township, the son of Upton G. and Mahalia McKinley Prather. He married Eva Painter in 1919. She preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 1982.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth Prather of Astoria; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was a farmer and construction worker.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Terry Westerfield officiating. Burial will be in the Astoria Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Astoria Cemetery Association.
