Charles C. Myers, 86, of Astoria died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at his home.

He was born April 14, 1917, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of Charles Albert and Mamie Christine Curtis Myers. He married Josephine Blickenstaff on Sept. 22, 1940, in Palmyra, Mo. She died Jan. 31, 1988.

He also was preceded in death by one grandchild, Miranda Holleran; and two sisters, Helen Lockard and Violet Hilma Myers.

Surviving are three daughters, Suzanne (and David) Risinger of Marquette Heights, Kathleen Holleran of River Falls, Wis., and Jo Ellen (and Randy) Doyle of Jacksonville; special friend, Ann Klinedinst of Canton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Merlin C. (and Wanda) Myers of Ipava; and two sisters, Martha Howell of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Betty Lauralee Sedmack of Redlands, Calif.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

A lifelong farmer, he also worked at International Harvester in Canton for 27 years.

He was a member of Woodland Church of the Brethren. Services were held Tuesday at his church with Rev. Vernon Dean and Rev. Kevin Kessler officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Cass-Schuyler Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
