Dale Markley

Dale D. Markley, 85, of Canton, died at 2:53 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998, at Graham Hospital Extended Care.

He was born July 8, 1913, in Astoria, a son of DeLoss and Minnie J. Farwell Markley. He married Sarah Elzada Baumgartner on Feb. 17, 1934, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Carol Welker and Carolyn Bollinger, both of Canton, and Sara Webb of Loveland, Colo.; one son, Robert of Pekin; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Wilbert of Lewistown.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one sister.

An implement mechanic, he worked for Wright Equipment in Farmington. He last worked as a parts man at the Vo-Tech Center at Spoon River College. He also farmed.

Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Curt Foss officiating. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery near Astoria.
