VeteranArthur McCormick Dies Unexpectedly

Arthur Raymond McCormick, 73, a retired farmer, died unexpectedly at his home in Astoria about 2:15 p.m. last Wednesday afternoon.

Mr. McCormick was born Feb. 10, 1893 near Vermont, the son of Finley and Rebecca Bollinger McCormick. He married Nellie Carithers, who survives. He was a veteran of World War I.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Margaret McLaughlin and Mrs. Polly Wherley, both of Bloomington and Miss Mildred McCormick of Santa Monica, Calif., a son, Robert, of Canton; 15 grandchildren and two brothers, Ralph and Verne McCormick, both of Astoria.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Rev. Fines D. Main of Astoria officiating. Burial was in the Vermont Cemetery.
