Bane Lind, Bader, Dies

Bane E. Lind, 45, a resident of Bader, passed away Friday at his home after an illness of several years duration. He was a carpenter by trade.

Mr. Lind was born March 8, 1902 in Bader, a son of Michael and Cora May Pierson Lind. He was married to Opal Sales on Jan. 30, 1926, who survives. To this union three daughters were born, Audrey Jane, who departed this life on October 18, 1936, Donna Jeanne and Willa Fern at home.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mary Slagowski of Mt. View, Wyo., and Mrs. Blanche Miller of Quincy; three brothers, Dorsie and Otis Lind of Astoria and Roy of Carbon Cliff, Ill.; and a half brother, Clarence Stauffer of Staunton, Ill.

He was a member of the Royal Neighbors lodge at Browning, and an active member of the Bader Christian church.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Christian church at Bader, conducted by Rev. Fred Thompson of Astoria. Burial was made in the South Fulton cemetery.

[Laura's note: Not sure if his first name was spelled "Elery" or "Ellory". On his WWII Draft Card, which he would have signed himself, his name was spelled "Elery", so that is how I have currently indexed his name on this site.]
