John Oliver Lau, 70, died at the Peoria State hospital Wednesday of last week at 9:30 a.m., where he had been a patient for several years.
He was born May 6, 1872 in Woodland township, a son of the late Emanuel and Caroline (Gipe) Lau. He was never married. Survivors include four brothers, Emanuel, Jr., M. C. and Edward, all of Astoria, and Frank of Pleasant View.
Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Shawgo Memorial home with the Rev. Fred Thompson of Astoria officiating. Burial in the Woodland cemetery.
