MARY LOUISE (IRWIN) KINKEAD

Mary Kinkead

Mary L. Kinkead, 78, of Rushville, died at 5:55 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 21, 1920, in Schuyler County, a daughter of John and Myrtle Hunter Irwin. She married Harold Kinkead on Oct. 26, 1940, in Keokuk, Iowa. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Gene (Sally) Ellis of Rushville; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Waggoner of Chattanooga, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by one son, John, one great-grandson, one brother and one half brother.

She worked at the Astoria Sunshine Store and Gordon’s Cleaners, both in Astoria. She worked at Mason District Hospital in Havana for a number of years, last working as an X-ray technician. She was a member of Astoria Christian Church.

Services were held Saturday at her church with Rev. Gary Sheets officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery.
