Clinton E. Kessler Sr., 67, of rural Astoria, died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 1980, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
He was born Nov. 18, 1912, in Astoria, a son of Samuel and Minnie Etter Kessler. He was married to Ferne McMullen on Feb. 18, 1940. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Gary (Sharon) Cameron of Astoria; two sons, Clinton Kessler Jr. and Robert Kessler, both of Astoria; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Bollinger and Mrs. Nelda Bucher, both of Astoria; four brothers, Orvie and Russell, both of Astoria, Marshall of Rushville and Dean of Ipava.
He was a retired Caterpillar employee and a member of the Woodland Church of the Brethren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon in the Woodland Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.
