Gary Cameron

Gary R. Cameron, 58, of Astoria died at 11:50 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, in the emergency room at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

He was born Feb. 14, 1944, in Rushville, the son of Robert and Delores Bankus Cameron. He married Sharon Kessler on Oct. 25, 1964, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Robert (and Susan), Marty (and Wendy) and Steve (and Angie), all of Astoria; his mother, Delores Ford of Rushville; one sister, Joy (and Donald) Kempkes of Jacksonville, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.

He was a member and worked out of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 644 in Pekin.

He also was a member of Love Center Church in Astoria.

Services were held Saturday at Woodland Church of the Brethren in Astoria with Pastor Nedra Bollinger and Pastor Gary Schultz officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Astoria Rescue Squad, American Heart Association or Habitat for Humanity.
