Delores Ford

Delores FordDelores Ford, 99, of Rushville died at 2 a.m. April 20, 2020, at the Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rushville.

She was born Feb. 19, 1921, in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County, a daughter of Clarence Leonard and Harriett Lucille Hood Bankus. She first married Robert Cameron on Oct. 11, 1940, in Hannibal, Mo. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1958. She later married Ivan Ford on Sept. 5, 1970, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 1991.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Gary Cameron.

Surviving are one daughter, Joy Lynn (and Donald) Kempkes of Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Cameron of Astoria; one sister, Virginia Abbott; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and worked for Krauss Pharmacy in Rushville. She later worked as a file clerk and microfilm operator for the Secretary of State Drivers License Facility in Springfield, retiring in 1976.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rushville.

Due to the current health situation and directives from the Illinois Governor and the CDC, private services will be held. Burial will be in the Rushville City Cemetery. The Wood Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
