Bob KesslerRobert D. “Bob” Kessler, 66, of Lewistown died at 9:22 a.m. Aug. 25, 2018, at his home.

He was born April 24, 1952, in Canton, a son of Clinton E. and Ferne E. McMullen Kessler. He married Gloria Fuqua in 1970. She preceded him in death. He married Kristine Kays Large on Aug. 27, 2011, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Kelly (and Matthew) Sommers of Atlanta, Ga.; one stepdaughter, Lori (and Mike) Oldenettel of Jacksonville; one stepson, David (and Rochelle) Large of Jacksonville; one sister, Sharon Cameron of Astoria; three grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Damon Kessler; one step grandson, Parker Oldenettel; one brother, Clinton “Jackie” Kessler Jr.; and his parents.

He was a member of Woodland Church of the Brethren in Astoria.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator. He also was an over-the-road truck driver and a mechanic.

He was a member of the Army reserves.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lewistown Church of the Nazarene with pastors Randy Munson, Stanley Stambaugh and Barbara Sawyer officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be in the Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville.
