Betty L. Harris, 70, of Vermont, died at 3:29 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 1995, at Prairie City Nursing Center in Prairie City.
She was born Sept. 12, 1925, in Bernadotte, a daughter of Delno J. and Mary VanFossen Green. She married Robert E. Harris on Nov. 16, 1945, in Virginia, Ill. He died June 5, 1991. One son, Robert Alan; one brother; and one sister also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Rick, of Vermont; one daughter, Vicki Elgin of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; two brothers, Charles Norman Green of Vermont and Kenneth D. Green of Canton; one sister, Melba Stambaugh of St. Augustine; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She worked at Vermont Foundry for nine years.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rev. Jill Johnson-Scott officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.
