VeteranRobert E. Harris Of Vermont Dies

Robert E. Harris, 65, of Vermont, died at 10:49 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 1991, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Jan. 22, 1926, in Browning, a son of Reece and Flora Miller Harris. He married Betty Green on Nov. 16, 1945, in Virginia. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Rick Harris of Vermont; one daughter, Vicki Elgin of Lake Ozark, Mo.; one brother, Olof Harris of Jacksonville; one sister, Jean Frank of Beardstown; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Alan, and two sisters.

A World War II Navy veteran, he worked at the Vermont Foundry for 34 years and retired as heat room foreman.

He was a member of the Browning United Methodist Church and attended the Vermont United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Vermont United Methodist Church with Rev. Donald Pratt officiating. Burial was in the Vermont Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Vermont United Methodist Church or the Vermont Rescue Squad.
