Kenneth GreenKenneth D. “Ken” Green, 77, of Canton died at 3:50 p.m. March 15, 2015, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born Nov. 26, 1937, in Bernadotte, a son of Delno Green and Mary VanFossen Johnson. He married Melvina Z. Burcky on June 5, 1958, in Vermont. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Kathryn (and John) Gumpper of Salt Lake City, Utah; one brother, Charles Norman (and Nobuko) Green of Vermont; one foster daughter, Monica Tomich; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four siblings, Betty Harris, Melba Stambaugh, Doris Munson and Lloyd Green.

He retired from Caterpillar Inc. Mapleton Plant in 1993 as a power truck operator after 30 years, and was a member of UAW #974.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving with the 101st Airborne “Screaming Eagles” from 1956-59.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Canton with Rev. Tim Bauler officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Vermont Cemetery, following a funeral brunch. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
