Mrs. Peggy Holmes Dies At Age 45

Mrs. Peggy Maurine Holmes, 45, of rural Astoria, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1982, in Mason District Hospital, Havana.

She was born Oct. 2, 1936, in Macomb, a daughter of Theodore and Mary Lucile (Brown) Hickle. She married Jimmie Holmes July 21, 1979, in Havana. He survives.

Other survivors include her mother of the Astoria Care Center; four daughters, Mrs. Sherry Snyder and Mrs. Tambra Mendenhall, both of Astoria, Mrs. Laura Hand of Havana, and Miss Stephanie Holmes of Chandlerville; one son, Jason Cluney of Astoria; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Gilbert Hickle and Stanley Hickle, both of Astoria, and Richard Hickle of Browning; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Ellen Farwell, of Astoria.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Astoria Christian Church with Rev. Ray Artrip officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Astoria.
