VeteranPvt. James Hickle, Vermont, Dies In Washington

Pvt. James Edwin Hickle, a son of Theodore R. and Lucille (Brown) Hickle of Vermont, died Sunday in the Walter Reed hospital in Washington, D. C., where he has been a patient for several months. He became ill about two weeks after entering the service in September, 1946.

He was born June 13, 1929 near Vermont. Surviving besides his parents are three brothers, Gilbert Hickle of Peoria and Stanley, and Richard Hickle, at home; two sisters, Mary Ellen and Peggy Hickle, at home. He was a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Brown of Vermont, former Astoria residents. He was a member of the Vermont Methodist church.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Vermont in the Methodist church.
