ALICE JANE (LAU) HOKE

Alice Jane Hoke

IPAVA — Mrs. Alice Jane Hoke, daughter of Caroline Gype and Emanuel Lau, was born at York, Pa., June 4, 1854 and died at her home north of here March 11, 1930, aged 75 years, 9 months and seven days. A member of the Eastern Star Lodge, Ipava, members attended the funeral services held Friday at the Temple church.

Her husband, Emanuel Hoke, preceded her in death. Ross and Martin Hoke of Ipava are sons. A dearly beloved mother has gone to her rest.

Sister Passed Away

Mrs. Alice Jane Hoke passed away at her home north of Ipava March 11, and funeral was held from the Temple church east of Adair on Friday and interment made in the cemetery at that place.

Mrs. Hoke was the widow of the late Emanuel Hoke and has been a resident of that vicinity for many years. She was a native of York, Pa., and was 75 years, 9 months and 7 days of age at death.

She was the daughter of Caroline and Emanuel Lau, and was a sister to Mrs. R. C. Ruby of Adair. She has visited her sister here many times and is known to many of our readers. She is survived by nine children and four brothers and three sisters.
